Rebranding FAQs

What does this mean for you?

The most obvious change will be the change to our logo and in our communications with you. Across the Republic of Ireland, we will be known as Danske Bank. We believe this is an exciting prospect for us and for our customers.

With our new identity comes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to establish ourselves as an unrivalled customer-focused leader in supporting our customers, with a fresh, modern and dynamic brand and with direct access to the Danske Bank Group's liquidity, capital and award-winning technology.

The rebranding will happen in November 2012 in tandem with a similar rebranding in the Group's other banking operations across Europe.

What difference will a change in name make?

Rebranding as Danske Bank is a sign of the Danske Bank Group's commitment to the Irish market. It is also a clear signal of the Group's confidence in National Irish Bank.

We know that having the weight of an international group behind their bank is increasingly important to our customers. By attaching the Danske Bank name to our banks across the Group, Danske is putting the full weight of its commitment behind us and our customers.

What changes will you see?

From November, our logo which you will see on our website and in all of our communications with you will change, but otherwise nothing changes in terms of your day-to-day dealings with us.

The Bank that you deal with today and tomorrow is the same bank you dealt with yesterday.

Additionally, from November 2012 we will serve our personal and small business customers through our new Personal Banking Centre which will be open seven days a week from September and customers will be able to contact the team there from 8.00am to 8.00pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. We will have a large team of financial advisors in this centre whom customers can contact for all their banking needs. This service is in addition to our 24/7 automated telephone banking service, our SMS service and our award-winning eBanking and mobile banking services.

For those times when we need to meet, we will be able to arrange an appointment for customers at one of our nine Personal Banking Units in Waterford, Athlone, Cork, Limerick, Letterkenny and across Dublin in the IFSC, Tallaght, Swords and Stillorgan. The standard opening hours of 9am-5pm will operate at our Personal Banking Units – however, we will accommodate customer meetings outside of these hours when required.

The innovation and competitive products and services that Danske Bank has already brought to National Irish Bank will continue to be experienced by our customers.

When will you notice this change?

You will notice the changes from November 2012. At that time, you will also begin to receive new cards and cheque books as they fall due for renewal, and letters from us will feature our Danske Bank logo.

You don't need to do anything - we'll take care of everything for you.

What do you need to do?

Nothing, we will look after everything for you.
