National Irish Bank (NIB) has undergone a complete transformation since Danske Bank Group (Danske) acquired us in 2005. Full integration of NIB into its parent’s systems was completed in April 2006. This included:
- A €100m investment in new technology systems linked to Danske’s unique IT platform
- The introduction of new products and services
- The launch of a new corporate identity
Danske is a participant in the Danish Government’s Bank Guarantee Scheme, which was established in October 2008. All of its customers - both business and personal – are fully protected under the scheme. The protection covers National Irish Bank. This means our customers can be assured that their funds are 100% safe.
The strengths of our technology and eBanking capabilities were recognised by MoneyMate Investor Magazine’s 2008 award of "Online Bank of the Year". The bank has also won a number of other prestigious awards including “Best Financial Institution” (MoneyMate Investor Magazine 2007) and “Best Retail Bank” (KPMG 2008).
